Southeast BIO (SEBIO), a regional nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering the growth of the Southeast’s life sciences industry, announced the selection of four finalists in its third annual BIO/Plan Competition. The final four competitors are: EpiEP (University of Virginia); NeuroScience Pharmaceuticals (Duke University); Restorative Physiology Group (Medical University of South Carolina); and Compliant Therapeutics (Vanderbilt University). SE BIO Launches Regional Database and Site Visit Planner for Region’s Biotech Business
WASHINGTON, D.C. and ATLANTA, GA (March 19, 2009) – By hosting the 2009 BIO International Convention in Atlanta, Ga., May 18-21, the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) is shining a light onto the Southeastern U.S. biotech hub.
To help attendees, exhibitors and journalists navigate the region, Southeast BIO (SE BIO), a regional nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering the growth of the Southeast’s life sciences industry, has launched Southeast BIOtech Connect, an interactive database that outlines the over 1,200 biotech companies and centers throughout Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Atlanta, GA— Southeast BIO (SEBIO) announced four winners of the Second Annual SEBIO Awards in a ceremony held at its Tenth Anniversary Investor Forum in Palm Beach, FL on December 5th. The awards honored companies in the following categories: Southeast (SE) Deal of the Year: Initial Funding; SE Deal of the Year: Venture Capital Transaction and SE Deal of the Year: Strategic Transaction. In addition, the organization awarded its SE Leadership Award to an individual or organization that made a notable contribution to the growth of the life sciences industry in the region over the last year. The winners were ViewRay, Inc., Biolex, Inc., Serenex, Inc., and Rebecca Kaufman of King & Spalding, respectively. (more…)
