NovaMin raises a $2.2M C round
Alachua, FL–NovaMin Technology Inc., developer of a mineral compound used in dental products to strengthen teeth, has raised a $2.2 million C round from Intersouth Partners and U.S. Biomaterials Corp. according to a regulatory filing.
The company previously raised $9 million primarily from Durham, NC-based Intersouth Partners.
NovaMin is a presenting company at the Second Annual Southeast Venture Conference in Tysons Corner, VA, Feb. 27-28 (for more information on the conference see: www.seventure.org)
The company sells a mineral compound that has been described as “the greatest advance in dental tech since Flouride.” It can actually repair small early cavities when used in toothpaste or other products.
CEO Randy Scott tells TechJournal South the company’s compound is used in 9 products now and he expects agreements for 27 additional uses in 2008, which he believes will be “a breakout year” for the company.
